Jennifer Rosen is a litigation attorney with experience in a variety of areas. Her primary focus is on issues affecting families, including divorce, custody, visitation, child and spousal support. Having come from a family split by divorce, she knows that divorce can be one of the most stressful, confusing and emotional times for a family. She understands how important it is to have someone you trust to guide you through tough times. While a zealous litigator, Jennifer is also a trained mediator and collaborative lawyer, allowing her to offer a full range of options to her clients. Mediation and collaborative law avoid the costs of litigation, both financial and emotional, and leads to a highly personalized and client driven outcome to fit the needs of your family. Jennifer also has a younger brother who is mentally and physically handicapped by Cerebral Palsy, giving her additional insight into the special circumstances and matters which impact a family with a special needs child. In law school, Jennifer worked in the disabilities law clinic and assisted such youth and families in need of protection in court proceedings. Jennifer has assisted many clients formalize guardianship of a disabled adult.
Jennifer also handles other civil litigation matters, including landlord tenant, debt collection and residential construction issues. To round out her practice, she also handles residential real estate transactions.
Jennifer is a 1994 graduate of the University of Virginia, where she received her Bachelor of Arts while studying Government and Sociology. While at UVA, she was a member of the University Guide Service, providing historical tours of the Rotunda and Lawn as well as Admissions tours of the Grounds. Jennifer also served on the Resident Staff during her time at Virginia. Jennifer is also a 1997 cum laude graduate of the TC Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. Jennifer was a member of the McNeil Law Society and worked in a judicial clerkship program where she served the Honorable Elizabeth Lacy of the Supreme Court of Virginia. Upon graduation, Jennifer was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 1997 and has maintained her practice in Richmond since admission. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar, Family Law Section, The Chesterfield Bar, the Metro Richmond Women’s Bar Association, The Metro Richmond Family Law Bar Association, Collaborative Professionals of Richmond and the International Association of Collaborative Professionals.
